CROSSVILLE — April 17, 1915 — Jan. 10, 2011
Rebecca Maner Cooper, 95, of Knoxvile, passed away Jan. 10, 2011. Family and friends are invited to meet at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 7, 2011, at Woodhaven Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 160 Edgemoor Road, for a graveside memorial service. Family will receive friends at 2 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, 1902 Raccoon Valley Rd, Heiskell.
Mrs. Cooper was born April 17, 1915, in Knox County, the daughter of to William Anderson and Callie Maner.
She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Tennessee in 1937. She was a third grade teacher at Crossville Elementary School for more than twenty years. After retiring and moving back to Knoxville, she volunteered in the gift shop at East Tennessee Children's Hospital for over 30 years. She was named Volunteer of the Year in 2006. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Heiskell.
She was preceded in death by her her beloved husband Dutch.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to East Tennessee Children's Hospital, 2018 Clinch Avenue, Knoxville 37916 or St. Mary's Hospice, 7447 Andersonville Pike, Knoxville, TN 37938.
