Clara Ellen Lewis was born to John Wesley Lewis and Alice Lee Vincent at Trenton, Grundy, Missouri. She moved with her family to South Dakota in 1885. She married John Edward Morris on 25 Dec 1898 at Pennington, South Dakota. They had four children: Wesley Duell Morris, Lyle Elmer Morris, Wayne Edward Morris, and Warren Joseph Morris. According to the SD censuses, she lived there until at least 1915. But, she and he divorced and she married John Flint Martin on 19 Jun 1921 at Custer SD. He and she lived together in Sullivan, Missouri and Jackson Iowa. Finally, they retired to California where her husband died in 1962 at San Luis Obispo, CA. I, David Hardin, visited her at her home in Pismo Beach, San Luis Obispo, CA in 1967 when my grandfather and I travelled across the country to visit his brothers and sisters who he had not seen for many years. She lived 13 more years at Pismo Beach after we visited.
