Graham – Funeral service for Mr. Benny Joe Colvin, 82, formerly of Graham are scheduled for 2:00 pm Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at the Countyline Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Ed Staggs officiating. Interment will follow at Graham Cemetery. Services are under care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Ratliff City.

Benny was born February 24, 1929 at Duncan, OK to the late Mr. Jake Simon Colvin and Mrs. Jessie Lee (House) Colvin. He departed this life Saturday, April 30, 2011 at the Healdton Nursing Home.

Benny was raised in Graham and Clemscott residing most of his adolescent years with Grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Arthur and Clemmie Lee Melton. They owned and operated Melton's Grocery at Clemscott. Benny attended school at Graham and graduated from High School there in 1947. He then moved to Odessa, TX, where he was employed in the Oilfields. In 1965 he moved back to Oklahoma residing at Oklahoma City. Benny was an entrepreneur of many talents. He owned and operated many businesses ranging from Car Dealerships and Rental Properties to Auto Recovery and Wrecker Services. Benny was baptized at the Countyline Freewill Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death are his Parents; Step Mother, Reba Colvin; Sister, Wanda Henson; Brother, Val Von Colvin; and his wife Virginia Lewis.

Survivors include Daughters, Linda Kimura of Snyder, TX, Janice Wagner and husband Clyde of Sweetwater, TX, and Diane Del Vecchio and husband Bill of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Son, Benny Joe Colvin, Jr. of Oklahoma City. Brother, Max Colvin and wife Phyllis of Edmond. Sisters, Joy Nell Coffield and husband Joe of Shreveport, LA, Judy McMahon and husband Jim of Ardmore, Barbara Martin and husband Raymond of San Marcus, TX and Vicki Newport of Coalgate. 8 Grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great Great Grandchildren. Numerous other family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Alan Colvin, Max Colvin, Jr., James Rollag and the men of the Countyline Freewill Baptist Church.
