STRONGHURST - Ernest Apt, 72, died suddenly at his home here at 11:30 p.m. Monday. Death was due to a heart attack. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday from the Christian church with the Rev. John McCaw officiating. Burial will be in the Maple Grove cemetery. FUNERAL RITES HELD FOR ERNEST APT
STRONGHURST - Funeral services for Ernest Apt, 72, who passed away at his home at 11:30 Monday night, were held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 at the Stronghurst Christian church, with Rev. John McCaw, pastor of the church, in charge. A quartet composed of Mrs. Harold Mickle, Miss Emily Combites, Joe Huff and Clarence Combites, sang three songs, "Saved by Grace," "No Night There" and "Meet Me There."
Pallbearers were nephews of the deceased. Burial was in the Maple Grove cemetery.
Surviving are three sisters, Fronie of Stronghurst, Mrs. Bertha Fordyce of Roseville, and Mrs. Clara Painter of Stronghurst; six brothers, Clarence and Silas of Terre Haute, Frank of Missouri, Miller of Iowa, William of Stronghurst and Chris of Oquawka.

Ernest Apt, 72 years of age, passed away suddenly following a severe heart attack Monday, Aug. 4, 1941. Funeral services were conducted by the Reverend John E. McCaw at the Stronghurst Christian Church at 2:30 o'clock Wednesday p.m. Interment was in the Maple Grove Cemetery west of Stronghurst, nephews of the deceased serving as pallbearers. Mr. Apt, who was blind from birth, was a talented pianist, and for some time traveled a Chautauqua circuit. He was a devout Christian. Surviving are the following sisters and brothers: Mrs. Clara Painter, Miss Fronie Apt and William Apt of Stronghurst; Clarence and Silas Apt of Terre Haute; Chris S Apt of Oquawka Mrs. Bertha Fordyce of Roseville; Frank Apt of Monmouth; and Miller Apt of Iowa.
