Kenneth Glidden, 84; worked at Hillcrest

DALTON - Kenneth W. Glidden, 84, formerly of 293 High St., died
Monday, June 30, at Berkshire Medical Center.

Born in Frelishburg, Quebec, Canada, on July 3, 1918, son of John H.
and Bertha May Bates Glidden, he attended schools in East Franklin,
Vt.

Mr. Glidden was employed in the housekeeping department of the former
Hillcrest Hospital in Pittsfield from 1972 to 1980. He had also worked
on the family farm in Franklin, Vt., and for the Fitchburg Lumberyard
in Fitchburg and the Littleton Electronics Shop.

Mr. Glidden was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Berkshire.

His wife, the former Winifred Hopkins, whom he married April 22, 1973,
died Oct. 10, 2001.

He leaves a brother, Reuben Glidden of Franklin; a sister, Ruth Gove
of Gardner, and his niece and caregiver, Penny Taylor of Pittsfield.

FUNERAL NOTICE - A memorial service for Kenneth W. Glidden will be
conducted Saturday, July 12, at 2 at Seventh-day Adventist Church by
the Rev. Leo Piorer, pastor. The Rev. David Beguin, pastor of
Evangelical Free Church, will assist. Following cremation, burial will
be in Ashuelot Cemetery in Dalton. There will be no calling hours. In
lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Seventh-day Adventist
Church in care of BARTLETT-WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 525 Main St.,
Dalton, MA 01226.
