Rites Held For Andrew T. Allen 86, Tuesday- Came To County in 1868-Farmed In Rose Hill District

Andrew T. Allen, a resident of this county since 1868, passed away Sunday, December 29, at the home of his son, Clyde Allen, of Nebraska Street, with whom he had made his home for a number of years.

Deceased was born in Butler County, Ohio, August 2, 1854. After coming to this county, he was married to Mary E. Lamb on February 21, 1878, and to them, four children were born, Charles R. of Omaha; Roland G. and Clyde A. Allen of Blair; and one daughter, Leora M., who died in 1909. The wife died in 1933.

He is survived by his three sons and two granddaughters, Mrs. Leora M. Reeh and Miss Harriet Allen.

In 1881 he purchased a farm in the Rose Hill distract where the family resided until 1908 when he sold the farm and moved to Blair where he resided until his death.

Funeral rites were held Tuesday at 1:30 P.M. at the Bendorf Funeral Home with Rev. John P. Brooks, pastor of the local Methodist Church officiating. Two vocal solos were rendered by Keith Vinton which added much to the sacred ceremonies. Interment was made in the Blair Cemetery.
