| Birth: | May 4, 1895 Manhattan New York County New York, USA | | Death: | Jan. 25, 1941 Manhattan New York County New York, USA |  He was a son of Dr. William Kelly Simpson, a well-known ear, nose, and throat specialist in Manhattan and Anna Farrand, a daughter of Joseph Steevens Farrand, Sr. and Elizabeth Carroll. He married Helen Louise Knickerbacker Porter and had one son, Dr. William Kelly Simpson (Ph. D. in Egyptian archealogy) and three daughters. Kenneth did his undergraduate work at Yale and gradutated from Harvard Law School. He was a lawyer in New York City, head of the Republican Party in New York State, and served for twenty days as a U. S. Congressman from the "Silk Stocking" district in Manhattan before dying of a heart attack. His sudden death at his townhouse in Manhattan was front-page news in the New York Times. He was buried at Hudson, New York in the Hudson City Cemetery with his father, mother, and brother who died as an infant. Kenneth could have been buried at the Green-wood Cemetery in Brooklyn where his maternal grandfather had a large family plot, but this was not done. Before his death, Kenneth Farrand Simpson had started to oppose in Congress President Franklin Delano Roosevelt on "lend lease" to Russia. Kenneth and his wife were strong opponents of Communism. Kerensky, "the White Russian leader in exile" had a guest bedroom in their townhouse which was reserved for his exclusive use.
