Kentucky, was the daughter of William
and Mary E Adams Patton. The family
moved to Bowie County Texas in 1888.
Ella married Coley MacRay, a former
cowboy, or drover, as he prefered to
be called. Coley rode a Texas cattle
trail for several years. He related
that the drovers would ride for days
without seeing a tree. When they
stopped to rest or cook, cow chips
were used in campfires.
Coley and Ella settled in Foreman, AR
near where he leased a farm and grew
cotton.
