She was the first wife of Thomas Mellen, a famous Rev. War Patriot. She was also the mother of Henry, who was a Sergeant in the Rev. War and who had three wives. (The wives were Sarah Torrey, Mrs. Jerusha Burnap Abbee and Mrs. Hannah Bass Turner.) There was daughter Elizabeth who married Stephen Torrey, James who was a Colonel and officer of the line in the Rev. War and married to Elizabeth Russell, Mary (my ancestor) who married Phineas Gibbs and then John Freeland, two Sarahs, Mehetable who married Dr. James Freeland, and Thomas who was a Major in the Rev. War and who married Allison Eunice Fitch. When Elizabeth died in 1775 Thomas, Sr. soon married Mrs. Elizabeth Wilson and had son Joseph.
