Doris Jeanell Williams, 79, of Lubbock passed away April 27, 2011. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, April 30, 2011, at 3 p.m. in the sanctuary of First Church of the Nazarene in Lubbock. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Rev. Curtis Sellers and Rev. Kenneth Book will officiate. Pallbearers will be Brian Williams, Jeremy White, Russell Williams, Ben Williams, Tye Clay and Tommy Herron. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 29, 2011, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Resthaven Funeral Home.

Doris was born Sept. 12, 1931, to parents Lorene (Massey) and Carl Jones. She had worked for the Lubbock I.S.D. and had been a devoted homemaker. Throughout her lifetime, she enjoyed crafts, cooking, gardening, and mostly spending time with family.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Kenneth Wayne Williams; two sons and daughters-in-law, Kenny and Shelda Williams and Curtis and Karen Williams; two daughters and sons-in-law, Debra and Glen Edwards and Karen and Stephen Book; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, all of Lubbock; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Alfred and Clara Jones of Lubbock and Dean and Gloria Jones of Cleburne; and a sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and James Hargis of Stanford.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Doris Jones of Hillsboro.

The family requests that contributions in Mrs. Williams' memory be made to First Church of the Nazarene, 6110 Chicago Ave., Lubbock, TX 79424. Condolences may be offered at resthavenfuneralhome.com.
