"I remember as a child, when Gordon would have been about 12 years old, receiving a darling wooden cupboard for my doll for Christmas. I got a doll every Christmas. My two brothers, Gordon and Sherman, had built and painted and finished the cupboard, using tools they had been given several years earlier by our father," Sister Sullivan said.

A moment with her brother Gordon B Hinckley

2011 Obituary Salt Lake City, Utah
Ramona Hinckley Sullivan, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-mother, aunt and friend passed away on September 5, 2011.

She was born on January 3l, 1916, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Bryant S. and Ada Bitner Hinckley. She attended public schools in Salt Lake City, and attended the University of Utah, until her father was called as President of the Northern States Mission, headquartered in Chicago, Illinois. There she attended the Art Institute of Chicago. She later transferred to Brigham Young University, where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Fine Arts.

She married Patrick John Sullivan on July 30, 1938. They were happily married for 55 years before he passed away. After raising their daughters, she went to work with her husband at his title insurance company, McGhie Land Title. They traveled extensively, and even circled the globe in 1973.

She was a past PTA president at Granite High School, and worked many years in the Utah Home Builders Auxiliary. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, and also worked in many of the auxiliaries of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

All who knew her enjoyed her wonderful sense of humor, her smile, upbeat personality, and boundless energy. She planned many memorable family vacations with children and grandchildren. She welcomed all into her home, and many were the beneficiary of her generosity.

She was a devoted mother and grandmother, and is survived by her two daughters, Sheila Ensign, Gold River, California, and Colleen Rynearson, (Gary) Centennial, Colorado; 4 grandchildren, l6 great-grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

She was loved by all who knew her, and will truly be missed. She will be joyously welcomed "home" by her beloved husband Patrick, her parents, her brothers Stanford, Grant, Wendell, Waldo, Gordon and Sherman, and her sisters Lucile Laxman, Grace Hinckley, Carol Cannon, Virginia Hinckley, Venice Nielson, Christine Robinson, Ruth Willes, and Sylvia Wadsworth.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 10th at The Monument Park Stake Center, 1320 Wasatch Dr.

Friends and family may visit Friday, 6:00-8:00 p.m., at Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary, 2350 E 1300 S, and at the church Saturday, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing may contribute to The Perpetual Education Fund of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
