US Congressman. He served during the Civil War as a Private in Company E, 4th Pennsylvania (1862) Militia, being mustered in on September 11, 1862, and being mustered out on September 26, 1862. He was elected as a Republican to represent two Pennsylvania Congressional Districts in the United States House of Representatives, serving the 20th District from 1901 to 1903, then the 19th District from 1903 to 1905.
