| Birth: | Aug. 10, 1914 | | Death: | Jul. 17, 1977 |  Polish Pianist. Well-known classical pianist, best-known for his renditions of classical Frederic Chopin pieces. He studied at the Warsaw Conservatory and later under Ignace Paderewski in Switzerland. During World War II he toured the United States and in 1942 he made his debut at Carnegie Hall in New York City and in 1945 he appeared in London with the London Philharmonic Orchestra. Between 1949 and 1956 he made two world tours and 14 tours of the United States. He was made an honorary member of the Chopin Society in Warsaw, Poland.
