| Birth: | 1902 | | Death: | Jun. 29, 1977 |  Romanian Princess-Consort. Also known as Princess Elena. She was the longtime mistress of King Carol II of Romania (1925-1947), before they were married in 1947. In 1925 Lupescu was ordered out of the country and Carol who was heir apparent to throne, left his wife and, renounced the throne and took Lupescu to the French Riviera. In 1927, upon the death of his father, Ferdinand, his son Michael became King of Romania, but after two years of political turmoil in Romania he was asked to return to the throne. In 1940, he abdicated the throne from pressure of the Nazis and fled to Estoril, Portugal. In 1953 Carol II died.
