He was a popular character performer best remembered for his role as forest ranger Cory Stuart on the CBS TV series "Lassie", 1964 to 1968. After serving in the US Marine Corps during World War II, he entered films under the contract of RKO Studios in 1946. As a freelancing actor, he appeared in a varied number of roles in films such as "Bus Stop" (1956) and "My Gun is Quick" (1957). It was on the small screen where he soon gained his notability when he first guest starred on the TV drama, "The Public Defender". He soon was a regular on series to include "Stagecoach West", "Fury", "Perry Mason", "Alfred Hitchcock Presents", "Laramie" and others. After his character was replaced on the "Lassie" series in 1968, retired from acting. He died of a heart attack at age 65. (bio by: John "J-Cat" Griffith)
