The Gettysburg Times November 22, 1946

Harry J Rothhaupt, aged about 44 years, South Washington Street garageman, suffered a fatal heart attack while hunting bear in the mountains in the Cross Forks section, near Renova, late Thursday afternoon.
Mr. Rothhauupt had gone upstate Sunday in preparation for the opening of the bear season Monday.
The body is being brought to Gettysburg today. Details are not yet available concerning his death.
Mr. Rothhaupt, who had operated a garage business here for about eight years, served for some time as a member of the Pennsylvania state police a number of years ago. He also was in the coal business here before he became a grageman.
He was a member of the Gettysburg lodge of the Eagles and the Carlisle Moose lodge and belonged to Elias Lutheran church at Emmitsburg.
Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Margaret Rothhaupt, Gettysburg R2; a sister, Mrs. Eva Pape, Buford avenue; a brother, Loyd Rothhaupt, Gettysburg RD, and a daughter, Peggy Ann Rothhaupt, of Hanover.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete.
