James Floyd Breeding
Birth: Sep. 28, 1901
Death: Oct. 17, 1977

US Congressman. Born in Robinson, Kansas, he attended Kansas State College, (1921-22) and was a successful farmer-stock broker in Rolla, Kansas. He served as a member of the Kansas State House of Representatives, (1947-49) and was president of Western Kansas Development Association in 1951. In 1957, he was elected as a Democrat to the Eighty-fifth Congress and to the next two succeeding Congresses, serving until 1963. An unsuccessful candidate for reelection, he was appointed by President John F. Kennedy as assistant to Secretary of Agriculture, Grain and Feed Division, (1963-66). After retiring from politics, he resumed his farming interest until his death age 76 in Dodge City, Kansas. (bio by: John "J-Cat" Griffith)
