NIELAND RITES TO BE FRIDAY
Lifelong Resident of Community Dies on Tuesday

Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Nieland, 83, will be held this Friday morning at 9:00 o'clock from the Steger Funeral home to St. Mary's church. Mrs. Nieland died last Tuesday.

Born April 6, 1872, in Osterdock, Mrs. Nieland was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mathias Burr. On April 18, 1886, she was married to Henry Nieland and the couple farmed for many years, retiring to Guttenberg to make their home 26 years ago.

Surviving Mrs. Nieland are her husband, a daughter, Mrs. Hugo Kann of Garnavillo, and two sons, Joseph Nieland and Gregor Nieland of Guttenberg. Also surviving are two brothers, Frank Burr of Guttenberg and Joseph Burr of Marshfield, Wisconsin.

Five grandchildren also survive. They are Marvin Nieland of Ft. Lewis, Washington; Mrs. Betty Evers of Guttenberg; Darlene Nieland of Waterville; Douglas Nieland of Ft. Lee, Virginia, and Lou Klein of Rockford, Illinois.
