Steve A. Callis, 51, passed away Monday, April 25, 2011 at his residence, surrounded by his family.
Steve enjoyed motorcycle riding, fishing, golfing, hiking the Appalachian Trail and rooting for the Cardinals, IU, Colts. But most of all, spending time with friends and family.
Steve was a six year Navy Veteran, serving from 1979-1985 on the nuclear submarine USS Daniel Boone.
He was a longtime member of Main Street United Methodist Church in Boonville.
Surviving Steve, is his wife of nine and half years, Elana, (Brokaw); son, Andrew Callis of Boonville, Ind.; stepson, Brandon Long of Santa Claus, Ind.; stepdaughter Kassie Potter (Matt) of Cincinnati, OH; parents, Art and Irene Callis of Boonville, Ind.; two grandchildren, Kameron Potter and Landon Miller; two sisters, Donna Buxton (Greg) of Boonville, Ind.; Mona Callis and partner Wendy Flanagan of St. Louis, MO; one brother, Mark Callis of Evansville, Ind.; niece, Jessie Buxton, nephew, Matt Buxton and fianc? April Scott; many dear cousins, aunts and uncles and all of his "Brothers" from Alcoa.
Funeral service 10:00AM Thursday, April 28 at Main St. United Methodist Church in Boonville with Rev. David Henry officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery with military rites by the Warrick County Veterans Memorial Services. Friends may call Wednesday from 2-8PM at Main Street United Methodist Church and 9:00AM until service time at the church.
