Miss Regina Mayre Robinson, 87, a resident of West House Personal Care Home, 616 W. Edwin St., died at The Gatehouse of Divine Providence Hospital Sunday, April 24, 2011.
Born on her parent's farm in Woodward Township, Sept. 21, 1923, she was a daughter of the late J. (James) Raymond and Mayre E. McClarin Robinson.
Miss Robinson lived on Ames Place, Williamsport, from childhood until 1967, when she removed to Fla. Upon moving back to the area, she resided in Brookside, then at Roaring Branch.
Miss Robinson was a 1944 graduate of Dickinson Junior College, forerunner to Lycoming College, where she studied music.
A brother, James McClarin Robinson IV, died April 9, 1993.
Miss Robinson was a member of the Lycoming Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution and was a direct descendent of Revolutionary War Lt. Col. William Hepburn, an Irish immigrant, who was the first president judge of Lycoming County. On April 12 she was presented with a framed certificate at a DAR luncheon recognizing 60 continuous years of membership.
Miss Robinson was an avid student of local history and enjoyed Bible study, antiques, feeding birds and wildlife that visited her former country home. She took in and cared for many abandoned cats and dogs throughout her adult life.
In lieu of flowers it is suggested that donations be made to the Lycoming County SPCA, 2805 Reach Rd. or to The Gatehouse of Divine Providence Hospital, 1100 Grampian Blvd., both of Williamsport, PA 17701.
Graveside services will be held in Wildwood Cemetery at 10 a.m. Wednesday with Pastor John Aderhold officiating.
