Matthew was the son of Daniel Derrington and Andrea Stergios Derrington. He was the grandson of Dr. and Mrs. Thomas Derrington and Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Stergios. He graduated from Hinsdale Central High School and was a member of the Union Church of Hinsdale, Illinois.
Boyfriend of Elizabeth Pasch Ramsey, who was the half sister of JonBenét Ramsey. Matthew and Elizabeth, both 22 years old, were killed in an automobile accident in Burr Ridge, Illinois.
His obituary appeared in the Chicago Tribune on Friday, January 10, 1992, in Section 2 on page 8.
