Mrs. Isabelle Byrum, age 68, wife of N.H. Byrum, 419 Union avenue, Park Place, died suddenly last night in Charlevoix, Mich., after having been stricken suddenly ill while attending mid-week prayer services in a Church of God at that place, according to word received by relatives.
Mr. and Mrs. Byrum had gone to Michigan several day ago for their annual vacation, Mrs. Byrum was stricken about 7 p.m. and died several hours later.
The deceased had written a number of books, largely on children's subjects, published by the Gospel Trumpet Company, of this city. Mr. Byrum has been treasurer of the church organization for more that fifty years, a member of its Board of Trustees and active for many years in the Church of God. The Byrums came to this city in 1906, accompanying the Gospel Trumpet Company to Anderson from Moundsville, W.Va.
The body will arive in the city at 6:08 a.m. Friday by train and will be removed to the Albright Funeral Home pending completion of funeral arrangements.
Surviving besides the husband are, three children, Ruthven, of this city, a widely-known artist; Myrl, also of here, who is affiliated with the Gospel Trumpet Company, and Mrs. Irene Barrett, who resides in New York city.
