Harvey Murray Hatch

Harvey Murray Hatch returned to his Eternal Father in Heaven February 11, 2001. He leaves behind his beloved sweetheart and companion of 61 years, Frances Case Hatch, his three children and their families.

Harvey was born June 2, 1919, in Duchesne, UT, to James Harvey and Carrie Murray Hatch. He married Frances Case Jan 6, 1940. The marriage was later solemnized in the Washington, D.C. LDS Temple.

Harvey was a good athlete, a star basketball and baseball player in younger years, and became a master carpenter working with his father. He worked as a civilian contractor until becoming an officer in the Army Corps of Engineers. Harvey and Frances lived many places around the world, and spent many years working for the U.S. Government in Washington, D. C.

There was nothing Harvey couldn't build or fix, and he spent many hours constructing things for those he loved. The family will miss his quiet demeanor, dry wit and quick smile, his fighting spirit and tender heart.

Harvey is survived by a close and loving family: his wife, Frances; and children, Vicky Ann and James Mallock, Salt Lake City, Patsy Lee and Marty Nodilo, Scottsdale, AZ, William James and Janet Hatch, Napa, CA. Harvey's grandchildren, James Mallock II, Kari (Jim) Hunter, Harvey (Andrea) Mallock, Francie (Aaron) Menlove, Shannon Mallock, Starr Mallock, M.J. Nodilo, John Nodilo, David (Victoria) Hatch, and Kelly Hatch. The great grandchildren, Jordan Hunter, Katie and Chloe Menlove, Adam and Natalie Hatch.

The family extends loving appreciation to so many who have offered extraordinary support for so long to make Harvey's last years so wonderful.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wed. Feb 14, 2001, at the Little Cottonwood LDS First Ward Chapel, 6350 S Rodeo Ln, Salt Lake City. A viewing will be Tues. Feb 13, 6-8 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 S Highland Dr, and at the church one hour prior to services. Interment, Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
