Richard Parry -
Richard A. Parry, 81, died Aug. 15, 1992, at his home in Prescott. He was born Dec. 29, 1910, in Salt Lake City to Edwin F. and Maude (Rudy) Parry.
Mr. Parry married Nina Belle Tenney Aug. 29, 1929, in the St. George Temple in St. George, Utah. He taught speech and hearing at Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill. He earned his doctorate degree in psychology and speech pathology in 1945 from Northwestern.
He was a professor at several universities, including the University of Hawaii. Hew as director of pupil personnel in Kaysville, Utah, for four years. In 1955, he and his family moved to Prescott where he was director of pupil personnel for the Prescott schools, retiring in 1975.
He then became director of the Prescott Child Development Center, retiring in 1985. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Cooper Basin Ward, in Prescott. During his life he served in various church positions: bishop, high councilman and temple worker in the LDS Temple in Mesa.
Mr. Parry also served a mission in the Northern States Mission, establishing the Boy Scouts, MIA and Primary organizations in five states from 1936-39. He was talented in speech, drama and music.
He is survived by his wife, Nina Belle Parry of Prescott, four sons, Richard Tenney Parry of Chandler, Alan Joseph Parry of Mesa, Darrell Boyd Parry of Cottonwood and Rex Lyman Parry of Valencia, Calif.; four daughters, Nina Sue Parry Eames of Mesa, Wanda Kay Parry Gurr of Scott Air Force Base, Ill., Cindy Lou Parry Coleman of Mesa and Deanna Dene Parry Buxton of Salt Lake City; a brother, Winslow Rudy Parry of Salt Lake City; and a sister, Susan Parry Holland of Salt Lake City: and 37 grandchildren.
A memorial service will begin at 10 a. m. Saturday, Aug. 22, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Ruth Street in Prescott. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Sunrise Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
