Peter Beaver was born 1813. As a teen, he moved to Hamilton County, Indiana, with family members. He was married four times - first to Sally Woods, second to Lucy Ann Curry, third to Susannah Hodson and fourth to Susannah P. Frazier. Peter and Susannah Hodson moved along with their children to Iowa in the mid-1840s.
