Lincoln - David LeRoy Buck was reunited with his Lord, Tuesday, March 24, 2009, when he passed unexpectedly at his home. David was born to two loving parents, Phyllis M. (Bates) Buck and Myron Kimball Buck on September 10, 1940. He graduated Salutatorian of Mattanawcook Academy, Class of 1958.

After attending MIT in Boston for two years he returned home and married Dianne Greene, his cherished wife of 47 years. David worked as co-owner of Buck Motors, Inc. for several years and became the devoted father of two children, Kimberly Anne Russell and Johanna Kathryn Purdue. With the loving support of his wife, David continued his education and in May of 1974 he graduated with highest distinction from the University of Maine in Orono with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Secondary Education.
The family moved to Milo and David began a life long dream of teaching English at Foxcroft Academy, a dream that lasted 22 years and served hundreds of students. He retired in 1995.

In 1989, David and Dianne became parents once more when they hosted a foreign exchange student from Mito, Japan. David served as committee member and leader of Boy Scouts of America, Troop #50. He was proud to be a lifetime member of National Rifle Association. Along with his wife, he became a privileged member of the Society of Old Ivory and Ohme Porcelain, and they planned their yearly vacation around SOIOP conventions across the United States. He was an avid sportsman and an Unregistered Maine Guide long before the term was invented.

Together, with his wife and daughters, he will be greatly mourned by his adopted daughter, Katie, of Mito, Japan; his sister/cousin, Donna (Bates) Boone and her husband, Chris, of Bishop, California; his grandchildren, Mary Anna Russell, Donald O'Dell Russell and Brenna Elyse Russell of Pittsfield; James Joseph McGuinness IV, and Paige Grace McGuinness, of Milo and Meghan Elizabeth McGuinness, currently serving in the U.S. Navy in Virginia and mother of his great-grandchild, Christopher Ayden McGuinness.
He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Angel W. Russell.
