Wayne served as a Captain and pilot of C-47 #43-15831, 492nd Bomber Squadron, 7th Bomber Group, 10th Air Force, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided in Carroll County, Maryland prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army Medical Department on October 15, 1941, prior to the war, in New Cumberland, Pennsylvania. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a Nurse and also as being Single, without dependents.

Wayne died in the "Line Of Duty" in a Non-Battle related incident when his plane was flying from Ondal India to Tezpur India and crashed, killing all aboard during the war.

This record is a " Cenotaph " in his honor.

Wayne is actually interred in the Loudon Park Cemetery, Baltimore, Maryland.
