with Pastor Ray Miller officiating. Interment will be held at the Estherville
Lutheran Cemetery in Estherville. She died on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2002 at the Good
Samaritan Center in Estherville.
Visitation will be held from noon until 7 p.m. today at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman
Funeral Home in Estherville.
Marie was born on May 28, 1913 in Dolliver, the daughter of Thomas and Anna
Helena (Anderson) Hovick. She received her education in the rural Dolliver area
schools.
On March 1, 1942, Marie was united in marriage to Norman Abner Walen in
Armstrong. The couple lived in Estherville and later moved to Oregon and
California.
In November of 1981, the couple moved back to Estherville and later became
residents of the Good Samaritan Center in Estherville.
Marie was a member other Estherville Lutheran Church and the ELCW.
Marie is survived by her husband, Norman, a resident at the Good Samaritan
Center in Estherville; nine nieces; thirteen nephews and several brothers-in-law
and sisters-in-law.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Sylvia Spagg and two brothers,
