James Madison Baker II, age 81, Oct. 30, 1920 - Oct. 19, 2002, passed in Richmond, CA. Born in Cement, OK. First born to James and Opal Baker. Served in World War II and entered the Army in 1941 in Lompoc, CA with the 65th Field Artillery and participated in the invasion of Africa and Sicily under leadership of General Patton. His name is etched in The Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. along with his fellow patriots in dedication to the Veterans of World War II.

In 1942, he married Lena (Judy) Smith. Retired in 1985 with 39 years from the Standard Oil Company (Chevron) as a Warehouse Foreman at the Richmond plant. A member of many organizations: The Masonic Lodge, The Scottish Rite, The Redmen, and The SIRS, and the First Baptist Church of El Sobrante.

Survived by his wife of 60 years, Lena (Judy) Baker; daughter Jacqueline Townsend; son James Madison Baker III; daughter Barbara Wilcox; grandsons Eric Townsend, Benjamin Wilcox; granddaughters Gwyn Merz and Denise Keiser and several great grandchildren.
