A "family only" interment service will follow at Titus Baptist Church Cemetery with Gassett Funeral Home of Wetumpka directing.
Mrs. Burns was preceded in her home going by her husband of 64 years and partner in preaching the gospel for 63 of those years, Rev. H.F. "Scotty" Burns.
She is survived by four sons: Michael H. (Betsy) Burns, James R. (Susan) Burns, Jeffrey P. (Sybil) Burns, and Jonathan C. Burns; two daughters: Glynis Elizabeth Burns and Betsy Susan Burns; nine grandchildren: Michelle (Ricky) Moxley, Brandon Beckham, Chris (Jen) Burns, Erica (Jeff) Rech, Chad Burns, Zachary (Nicole) Burns, Nicholas (Hallie) Burns, Chelsea Burns, and Katy Burns; nine great-grandchildren: E.C. Stokes, J. Beckham, Taylor Moxley, Bryce Rech, Kyle Burns, Alayna Burns, Serena Burns, Kinsley Burns, Ansley Burns, and a great-grandchild to arrive in November; one great-great grandchild: Reganne Elizabeth Stokes and one great-great grandchild to arrive in July, Parker James Beckham; brother, Danny Cook; sisters: Joyce Lumpkin and Bonnie Carroll (Mike) Lerocque.
Pallbearers will be Jon Burns, Chad Burns, Brandon Beckham, Nicholas Burns, Jeff Rech, Bryce Rech, Chris Burns, E.C. Stokes, Isaac Brown and Travis Long. Honorary pallbearers will be Stevie Rouse, Jim Harsha, and David Zimmerman. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions are requested to Santuck Baptist Church Senior Access Building Program / Portico.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 8:30 PM Thursday at Santuck Baptist Church. Mrs. Burns will lie in state one hour prior to services on Friday at the Church.
