Max Ray Samples, 58, of Marietta, died Monday Sept. 24, 2001, at his aunt's house in Marietta after an extended illness.
Services were Wednesday, Sept. 26, at 1 p.m. at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Edward Stacy officiating. Burial was in Booneville Cemetery.
Mr. Samples was born Oct. 26, 1942, in Prentiss County, Mississippi, to the late Woody and Willie Lampkin Samples. He was a farmer and served in the U. S. Army during Vietnam. He was a member of the VFW.
He is survived by a special aunt and uncle, Mary and Ercie McCoy of Marietta; a nephew, Thomas A. Samples Jr.; three nieces, Angela Newell, Charlotte McCoy and Fredia Ruth Austin; four uncles, Wana Samples, Travis Samples, Jack Devaughn and Miles Devaughn.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas A. Samples Sr.
