A catcher noted for his strong arm and defensive skills, he played the years 1944 to 1950 with the Philadelphia Stars. Raised in Philadelphia, he was signed to the Stars out of high school by Hall-of Famer Oscar Charleston. Spending his entire Negro League career with the team, he was the catcher for the legendary Satchel Paige in 1946 and 1950. After the Stars broke-up Glenn played three seasons in the minors and two in Canada before working 40 years for an electrical supply firm. In 2006 he published "Don't Let Anyone Take Your Joy Away: An Inside Look at Negro League Baseball and Its Legacy". At his death following a long illness he was President of the Negro League Ballplayers' Association. (bio by: Bob Hufford)
