Isaac Dutton Barnard
Birth: Mar. 22, 1791
Death: Feb. 18, 1834

U.S. Senator. Born in Aston Township, Pennsylvania, during the War of 1812, he served as a Major in the 14th Regiment, United States Infantry. After the war, he studied law, admitted to the bar in 1816 and commenced to practice law in West Chester, Pennsylvania. He was deputy attorney general for Chester County, (1817-21), a member of the Pennsylvania State Senate, (1820-26) and Pennsylvania Secretary of State, in 1826. In addition, he also was Major General of the Pennsylvania State Militia. In 1827, he was elected as a Jacksonian to the United States Senate and served until resigning in 1831. He died at age 42 in West Chester, Pennsylvania. (bio by: John "J-Cat" Griffith)
