On Monday July 29, 2013, I received the following email from a Find A Grave Contributor. "I found the plot but was unable to find a stone. Section 8 (Catholic II) plot 100." So apparently, Musician Samel E. Martin's grave is unmarked. The government will still furnish Salem a government issue Civil War veteran's style upright stone. THIS NEEDS TO BE DONE AS SALEM E. Musician Salem E. Martin was discharged for disability on April 22, 1863 at ___________, Tennessee because of illness and returned to his home in Peoria County. However, it is believed that Elizabeth (McCoy) Martin died in the early 1860's. Whether he death occurred in Indiana before the move was made or in Peoria County, after the move was made or even while Salem E. Martin was in the service, is not known.
Less than five months after he returned from the service,
