Timothy Mark Davis, age 61, of Lake Forest Park, died March 26, 2011. Tim was born in Cincinnati, Ohio to Robert and Margaret Davis. He graduated from Walnut Hills High School and Miami University of Ohio. Tim met his wife, Jan, at Glacier National Park in Montana while working during his college summer vacations. After they were married, Tim and Jan transplanted to Washington where he worked for Firestone and then co-founded Bison Creek Pizza.
Tim has been an integral part of the Lake Forest Park community. He was a member of the Planning Commission, ran for public office twice, was a charter member of the Lake Forest Park Rotary Club and was a Water Commissioner for Water District #83.
Tim retired from business in 2000 and lived life to its fullest during his retirement. He loved to travel. The International Executive Service Core (IESC) which Tim explained was "the Peace Corps for retired business guys" sent him to Thailand, Siberia and the Sudan. He went with Rotarians to administer the polio vaccine to kids in Ethiopia. There were three trips to India to see his sponsored kids at the Indian Christian Mission Center, an orphanage for 2,000 kids.
Tim and Jan complimented each other well. Special times included vacations to Hawaii, Tahiti (he wanted to see the Southern Cross), a steam train trip to Colorado and a trip on the Delta Queen. They enjoyed getting together with friends regularly to play cards, eat, laugh and enjoy each other's company.
Boating and cars gave Tim great pleasure in his life. Zipping across Lake Chelan in his little Boston Whaler or driving one of his beloved cars, were his idea of FUN!
Tim was loved by all who met him. Somehow he had that magic quality that made people comfortable with him and willing to open up--probably because he was warm, friendly and open himself.
Tim was so proud of his three remarkable children, Emily, Arthur and Grant. They have gone out into the world knowing that many of his qualities live on in them. His children are his legacy.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Jan, his brother Richard (June), his sister Elizabeth, daughter Emily (Michael), sons Arthur and Grant and granddaughter Miranda. He leaves many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends who are sad now but are so happy to have been a part of a life well lived.
