| Birth: | Sep. 21, 1808 | | Death: | Dec. 2, 1873 |  US Congressman. Elected as a Whig to represent New York's 14th District in the US House of Representatives, he served from 1849 to 1851. Andrews was born in Ticonderoga, New York. He graduated from the Albany Law School, was admitted to the bar in 1836 and returned to his hometown to open a law practice. After his single term in Congress, he abandoned politics and the legal profession altogether and moved to Oshkosh, Wisconsin, where he ran a lumber and timber business until his death.
