US Congressman. He studied law, was admitted to the bar and commenced to practice in Delaware, Ohio, then moved to Marion, Ohio and opened a legal firm in 1839. In 1855, he was elected as a Republican to the Thirty-fourth Congress, serving until 1857. An unsuccessful candidate for reelection, he resumed the practice of law in Sandusky, Ohio and was a member of the State constitutional convention in 1871. In 1876, he was appointed judge of the Ohio Court of Common Pleas and served until his death at age 69. (bio by: John "J-Cat" Griffith)
