Birth: Nov. 26, 1814
Death: May 6, 1901

Bedney Franklin McDonald was born to Governor Charles James McDonald and Ann Franklin McDonald. His siblings were Mary Ann (m.Atkinson), Catherine (m.Dunwody), Ella, Charles J.Jr.(m.Henderson)McDonald. Bedney served as a 1st Lieutenant in the Civil War. Commissioned an officer in Company F, Georgia 1st Infantry Regiment. Mustered out on 29 Oct 1864. He married Mary Louise Rowland and they were parents of 8 children: Bedney, Martha, John, Andrew, Charles, Annie, DeWitt, & Mary McDonald.

(Various sources give his birth as 1815 or 1820. I'm going with the grave marker date unless compelling evidence suggests it is wrong.)
