Attained rank of staff sergeant; armorer-gunner on B-52s; successfully completed 35 missions during WWII.
Discharged from Army Air Force; returned to job at Farmers Union
Began full-time farming; eventually bought out his father's farm in Poplar; produced spring wheat
Bought ranch in Culbertson where he was born; produced Black Angus.
At time of death, he was the oldest member of American Legion Post 55
Age at death: 78
