Memorial services will be held Monday, April 11, 2005 at 11:00 AM at Country Manor Care Center Chapel. Rev. Gary Skramstad will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Monday at the Country Manor Chapel. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Brainerd, MN. Funeral arrangements were made by Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN.
Ruth Malmstrom was born January 2, 1917 in New Rockford, ND to Victor and Etta (Vanderworf) Erickson. She grew up in St. Cloud and graduated from Technical High School. Ruth married Kenneth Malmstrom on April 24, 1937 at Calvary Baptist Church, St. Cloud, MN. They lived in Brainerd for 20 years and then returned to St. Cloud. Ruth was employed by Granite City Heating for many years. She was a member of Calvary Community Church where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. Ruth was also a member of Sons of Norway. She volunteered at the Red Cross Blood Bank as a typist for 14 years. Ruth and Ken enjoyed traveling and camping throughout the United States and Canada.
Survivors include her husband, Ken Malmstrom of Sartell, MN; brother, Charles (Muriel) Erickson of St. Paul, MN; cousins, Edith Wawers and Bernice Winkels; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Marcus Erickson.
