Actor. Best known for creating the character Jeeter Lester, a down and out Georgia farmer who chewed tobacco, for Broadway in 1933 for the Broadway play "Tobacco Road." Hull also appeared in film, televison and other stage productions in a career that spanned 50 years. He died in Cornwall, England

I just finished watching Mr. Hull along with Mickey Rooney in the classic, "Boys'Town." He was a very great and versatile actor and one of my favorites.
