" Charles Amans, 72, died Tuesday [09 Sep 1930] at his home on Route 1 after an illness of four and one half months. The funeral will be held at 9:30 AM Friday [11 Sep 1930] at Our Lady of Lourdes church, Dobie, father H. Teuwisse officiating. Interment will be at Dobie.
Mr. Amans had been a resident of Barron county for 63 years and of the same farm on Route 1 for the past 45 years. He was director of his school board in the town of Doyle for 38 years, served as road commissioner for some time and held other offices. Born in Canada he came to this county when he was only nine years old. His mother was one of the first white settlers in Barron county.
Mr. Amans married Delia Renville at Dobie on June 30, 1879, and they celebrated their golden wedding last summer. Mrs. Amans, 9 of their 12 children, 15 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren survive. The children are Georgianna of Ashland, Mrs. Sarah Mireau of Rice Lake, George of Angus, Nap of Birchwood, Mrs. Ross Smith of Naches, Wash., Henry of West Allis, Arthur and John of the state of Washington, and Clifford, at home."
