Punk Rock Musician. She was the lead singer of the punk-grunge band "The Gits." Formed in 1986 in Yellow Springs, Ohio and moved to Seattle, Washington three years later, just as the grunge phenomenon was becoming predominant in the region, they had recorded and released the album "Frenching the Bully" in 1992 to critical acclaim. She was murdered while walking home in July 1993, and her killer was not brought to justice for ten years until DNA technology helped crack the case in 2003.
