Blackwell and niece of Elizabeth Blackwell. She was the editor of "Woman's Journal", and was active in the National American Woman Suffrage Association, the Woman's Christian Temperance Union, the Woman's Trade Union League, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, the American Peace Society, and the Massachusetts League of Women Voters, which she co-founded.
