Robert G Nicol, of Heber City, age 62, died December 11, 1996 in the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center.
Robert was born June 29, 1934 in Heber City, to George and Manilla Bisel Nicol. He married Ruby Lawton, February 16, 1956, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He graduated from Wasatch County High School and LDS Seminary. He was an elder in the LDS Church. Robert worked for 30 years at Geneva Steel and retired in 1986. Then he worked at Merv's Auto Repair until 1994. He was a member of the Search and Rescue, serving as the Captain for two years.
Survived by his wife, Ruby; two sons, Dennis Nicol and his wife, Chris, Scott Nicol; a daughter, Peggy Sweat, all of Heber City; brothers, VerDon Nicol, of Kearns; and Jerry Nicol, of Salt Lake City; one sister, Colleen Orgill, of Murray, Utah; seven grandchildren. Preceded in death by son, Robert Lyle, his parents, George D. Nicol and Manilla (Nellie) Nicol Taylor, of Heber.
Funeral Services Friday, December 13, 1996, 11 a.m. at Heber 3rd Ward Chapel, 240 East 400 South. Friends may visit Thursday 6-8 at the Olpin Mortuary in Heber and one hour prior at the church. Interment Heber City Cemetery.
