William was a liveryman in Edina during WW I and was night watchman from 1924 to 1942. He was brought up in the "Ireland Community" near Edina, MO and went to the Ireland School.

Edina, Mo., Jan. 4. — Funeral services for William F. Byrne, 78, who died in his home here Saturday morning, will be held Tuesday morning at 9 in the St. Joseph Catholic church. The Rev. Terrence Mullins will officiate. Burial will be in the New Catholic Cemetery. Mr. Byrne was a son of Andrew and Kathryn Friel Byrne. He was a member of the Catholic church. Surviving are his widow, the former Miss Harriet Herr, and a son, Andrey [sic] of Edina.
