Son of Charles and Mary Ellen Cunningham McMillen. Husband of Elenora Margaret Reis on 18 JAN 1904 in Edina, Knox County, Missouri. Rev. C. E. Byrne, Pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church, performed the ceremony.

BRAIN BLOOD CLOT IS FATAL

Julius E. McMillen, Farmer Northeast of Edina, Died Friday Afternoon.

J. E. McMillen, 65 years old, died at 4 o'clock Friday afternoon of a blood clot on the brain suffered only a few hours before. He had been in his usual health and he had done a big day's work the day before.

The body was brought to Edina to the Kriegshauser Funeral Home where funeral services were conducted at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon by the Rev. Terence Mullins, pastor of St. Joseph Church. Burial was in the new Catholic cemetery. Pallbearers were: Frank Hettinger, William McNamara, Albert Phillips, Frank Goodwin, Vern Goodwin and Henry Clote.

Surviving are widow and three children, Kenneth McMillen of Edina, who is working in Quincy; Harry McMillen of northeast of town and Mrs. S. G. Anthony of Minneapolis, Minn. Besides these, Mr. McMillen leaves also his aged mother, Mrs. Mary E. McMillen, and a brother, Wilford McMillen, of Arapahoe, Colo.; two sisters, Mrs. Earl Browning of Knox City and Mrs. Arkie Wolter of Aden, Colo., and eight grandchildren. A sister and a grandson preceded him in death.

Mr. McMillen, a son of Jake and Mary Ellen McMillen, was born May 18, 1879, in Lewis County but had lived practically all his life in Knox County. He was married Jan. 18, 1904, to Miss Eleanor M. Reis at Edina by Rev. C. E. Byrne and they established their home on the farm where they have always lived and where death came.

Besides the daughter, Mrs. Anthony, the son, Kenneth, and the brother, Wilford, others from away attending the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Kenoyer, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Oliver, Mr. and Mrs. Orval Reynolds and family and William McNamara, all of Rutledge, and Mrs. Walter Reis and Mrs. Vincent Reis of Quincy.
