Robert Potter, son of Moses and Zilphia Potter, married Celinda Colvin, about 1812, daughter of Benoni and Elizabeth Colvin, of [p. 19] Scituate. Mr. Potter lived in Scituate most of his days, on the same farm where his father lived and died, on Burnt Hill. He owned another farm on Bowen's Hill, Coventry. He superintended them for awhile. He moved into Coventry about 1847, to a place now called Potterville. He went in company with others in manufacturing spools and bobbins, and in the lumbering business. Mr. Potter was ordained deacon of Scituate Church in 1826. He and his wife were both members of said church until their death. They were exemplary christians, very kind neighbors, very industrious and prudent, and were well to do in the world. They died in Coventry.
Robert Potter, born in Scituate, October 28th, 1789; died May 23rd, 1863. Celinda Potter, born in Scituate, October 30th, 1790; died December 27th, 1873. [provide by member 46543875]
