Lloyd Edgar Meadows, 94, of Penn Laird, died Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2006 , at Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg. Mr. Meadows was born July 3, 1912, in Rockingham County and was the son of the late Walter Y. and Ella J. Meadows.

He was a pioneer in rural electricity and worked as an electrician for Shenandoah Valley Electric for 28 years before retiring. He helped build the Skyline Drive while working for the CCC Camps during the construction of the Drive. He was a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church in Harrisonburg, and has previously attended St. James United Methodist Church.

His first wife, Bessie Williams Meadows, preceded him in death.

His second wife, Clara R. Meadows, survives.

Also surviving are a daughter, Shelby Murphy, of Harrisonburg, two sisters, Margie Moodie and Letha Slagle, both of Houston, Texas, three grand-children and 10 great-grand-children.

The Rev. J. Jefffrey Butcher will conduct the funeral 2 p.m. Saturday at the Otterbein United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Harrisonburg. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Kyger Funeral Home in Harrisonburg.
