Lewis "Rudy" Ruddell Rosenboom Sr. 75, passed from this earthly life on
March 30th, 2006 due to health complications related to Mesothelioma. He was surrounded by family and loved ones.
Viewing will be on the evening of Monday April 3rd from 5:00 to 8:00 PM with a 7:00 pm Vigil service at Hayes Funeral Home in the chapel.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 4th 11:00 am at Hayes Funeral Home chapel. Burial will follow with a memorial service in the Pavilion at Grace Memorial Park cemetery in Hitchcock.
Rudy was born of Catholic faith to the union of Dutch - German parents, Lubben Reemts Rosenboom and Anna Gertrude Walburga Lichtl/Rosenboom on February 3rd, 1931 in Altus, Oklahoma. Rudy moved to Texas City, Texas at the age of five and resided in Santa Fe, Texas since 1964.
Rudy proudly served his country for 4 years in the United States Army Air Force. He worked as General Ship Superintendent for Todd Shipyards Corporation in Galveston, Texas where he retired after 36 years of service. He later started a Gunsmithing business. His hobbies were photography, cooking, and his family.
Rudy was preceded in death by his parents, Lubben R. and Anna G. Rosenboom; daughter, Beverly Lera; his sisters Ida Pearl Patrick and Betty Lou Bachelder and his brothers Johnny Walker, Gene, Orville, Ray, Mickey and Walter Rosenboom.
Left to cherish his memories are: his beloved wife, Betty Jane Rosenboom; his sons Lewis R. Rosenboom Jr. of Dickinson Tx., Jason W. Rosenboom Sr. of Santa Fe, Tx., and John R. Rosenboom Sr. of Santa Fe,Tx., E.J. Keleman of Santa Fe, Tx.; his daughters Rhonda Lynn Holmes of Friendswood, Tx., and Kathy T. Kearns of Dickinson, Tx., Patricia Lera of Gaveston, TX, Mary Frances Moore of Malakoff, TX; his brother Frank D. "Corky" Rosenboom of Turkey Creek, La.; his two sisters Melba B. Crider of Chickasha, Ok. and
Wally G. Laros of Galveston, Tx. and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Pallbearers will be John Rosenboom II, Jason Rosenboom Jr., Robert Salyers, Timothy Kearns, Kevin Corn, and Fred Fraser III.
